Helena Introduces New Herbicides at 2026 Commodity Classic

Helena Agri-Enterprises is reshaping weed management strategies this season with the launch of Testament™. Introduced at the Commodity Classic in San Antonio, Texas, this new corn and soybean herbicide provides early weed protection and strong crop establishment in pre-plant and pre-emergence applications. Helena Products Group Brand Manager Dr. Michael Cox says Testament is designed with flexibility to meet the evolving needs of today’s growers.

“Testament will step in and fill that gap where you’re now able to get a user-friendly product that gives you great weed control, but it’s also favorable in those areas where you may run into a crop rotation sensitivity,” says Dr. Cox. “It’s broad rate range allows you to cater it to your conditions, soil type and what length of pre-emergence control you need.”

Testament complements Helena’s existing corn and soybean herbicides by targeting timings from pre-plant to pre-emergence as well as the fall burndown/residual window. Generous plantback restrictions provide flexibility over the uncontrollable, and multiple modes of action help manage herbicide resistance.

Testament combines three active ingredients: saflufenacil, pyroxasulfone and dimethenamid-p. In numerous third-party trials in diverse geographies, from the Dakotas to the panhandle of Texas to the Mid-South, this powerful combination was proven effective across a broad range of weeds, namely Palmer amaranth, waterhemp, Marestail, Morningglory and annual grasses.

“With all three of them combined, the saflufenacil and the two Group 15s (pyroxasulfone and dimethenamid-p), it’s a really complementary mixture to give us broad-spectrum, broad-acre weed control from a pre-emergence or even a burndown standpoint,” says Dr. Cox.

Helena also announced the recent EPA registration of Sinister® Nexus at Commodity Classic to further expand its herbicide portfolio. Sinister Nexus is a three-way soybean herbicide, and it will be available in limited quantities in 2026 pending approval by state regulatory agencies. Together, Testament and Sinister Nexus create exciting opportunities for growers to diversify their weed control programs this season and beyond.
