The recent release of firmware 4.0 for the Ag Leader Integra and Versa displays now includes some guidance changes, including the ability to enable/disable coverage mapping based off steering engage status and define tramlines and receive notification when approaching/on tramline. The new firmware can also utilize two nudge settings, small and large, with straight A-B patterns. It can view adjacent paths on each side of straight A-B and identical curve patterns, plus define A+ pattern with SmartPath pattern and select guidance patterns with an intuitive graphic.

Designed as a value-based RTK precision farming solution, the new Outback STX is compatible with the full line of Outback Autosteer Systems, including the eDriveX with the eTurns automated turn solution; the eDriveTC (the company’s decimeter system); and the Outback eDrive VSI electric steering interface. The STX also works with any of the Outback basestation units, providing RTK capability when used in conjunction with a MAX Rover and Outback RTK basestation unit. However, the STX also allows producers to attain autosteering capabilities at almost any level including free WAAS or the subscription OmniSTAR HP/XP option.

AgJunction, Outback MAXOutback MAX, AgJunction

Outback’s next generation guidance system, Outback MAX, now features hybrid or variety planter section control. Users can assign hybrids or varieties to planter sections for mapping and logging in order to track test plots or refuge. The software update also includes a fully-integrated Web Browser (modem and data plan required) which provides complete in-cab Internet access on the 10.4-inch display. The update enables a built-in “Help System” within the MAX terminal that puts product manuals and other support materials at the operator’s fingertips. Outback MAX also now fully interfaces with eDriveTC in both hydraulic and VSi operational configurations. In addition, anhydrous applicators with a Raven Fast Valve set-up can take full advantage of rate and section control provided by the AC110 and the variable-rate capability of MAX. Finally, eDriveX and Outback MAX users now have the additional guidance patterns of Identical A-B Contour and Adaptive A-B Contour.

The eDriveX now has two additional features for customers seeking precision steering and control performance: reverse steering and slow speed control. Reverse steering provides users with the ability to reverse course under certain circumstances. Slow speed control allows eDriveX users to operate their equipment in demanding, slow-speed conditions down to 0.25 mph — crucial for many specialty crop operations. In addition, eDriveX now supports 31 installation kits covering 310 vehicle models, including manufacturers such as Case IH, John Deere and New Holland.

The iGrade Water Management solution now incorporates additional features that allow operators to optimize their earth-moving operations and minimize costs. The add-on enables users to create cut-fill maps that show where the land needs to be formed to generate the desired surface. The iGrade then utilizes the cut-fill map along with RTK GPS position data to automatically control the scraper blade to form the surface to the desired contour. This feature can be utilized by the operator without leaving the cab of the tractor to maximize productivity. The solution can also be used to design surface drainages, contours and terraces making it a powerful tool for water management.
