Strengthening Leadership In Today’s Business Environment

Agricultural retailers and distributors are looking to Purdue University and the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) Leadership Academy for ideas on how to build and maintain momentum in this challenging business environment.

Forty-five participants, representing 16 states and Canada, are gathered this week on Purdue’s campus in West Lafayette, IN, to sharpen their management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Just in its third year, the academy quickly reached registration capacity.

Led by award-winning Purdue faculty members, participants will challenge their thinking on operations and logistics strategies, while also examining their company’s position and performance within the industry using a profitability linkage model. They will also work on improving their strategic thinking skills and implementing organizational leadership skills that impact their ability to motivate and influence team members. After discussing the current marketplace, participants will explore opportunities to create and deliver value that differentiates their company from its competition.
