Security Called Into Question

CropLife America is concerned with chemical site security legislation under consideration on Capitol Hill.

CropLife America has voiced reservations to potential new chemical site security legislation, known as the "Chemical Facilities Anti-terrorism Security Act" (H.R. 5577), currently under consideration by Congress and discussed this week along with the "Chemical Facilities Security Act" (H.R. 5533) by the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment and Hazardous Materials.

Currently, the crop protection chemicals industry is working in close cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security to implement the recently finalized Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) rule.
