Mycogen Seeds Unveils 2011 Products

Mycogen Seeds has introduced its 2011 product offerings, including 12 soybean lines, 13 SmartStax hybrids, and 8 silage corn hybrids.

New Soybean Lines. Mycogen Seeds has added 12 new soybean lines to its portfolio for 2011 planting. The new products deliver the opportunity for excellent return on investment through top genetics, advanced technology, and high yield potential.

Seven of the new Mycogen Seeds soybean lines feature Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield technology. The 2011 Mycogen Seeds portfolio includes three new Roundup Ready soybean lines. Mycogen Seeds offers two new conventional soybean lines.

“The new soybean lines from Mycogen Seeds offer the most advanced technology designed to perform and meet growers’ specific needs,” says John Kalthoff, oil seeds marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “MYCOGEN brand soybeans are the trusted choice for growers looking to build profitable whole-farm programs.”

New SmartStax Corn Hybrids. Mycogen Seeds will launch 13 new SmartStax hybrids within the company’s 2011 grain corn lineup. MYCOGEN SmartStax hybrids offer a lower 5 percent structured refuge requirement, provide the broadest spectrum of insect protection ever available, and enable growers to achieve higher whole farm yield potential.

“Elite MYCOGEN SmartStax grain corn hybrids were developed for maximum yield potential and feature the agronomic characteristics that growers demand for their acres,” says Hank King, senior grain corn marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds.

New Silage Corn Hybrids. Mycogen Seeds has added eight new BMR and TMF hybrids to its 2011 lineup of SILAGE-SPECIFIC corn hybrids. The new portfolio offers a wide selection of silage corn hybrids, designed to help growers find the right fit for their unique forage situations.

“Mycogen Seeds is excited to offer new hybrids with the latest technology to provide agronomic solutions while maximizing milk production,” says Greg Cannon, forage product marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “This includes our first BMR hybrid with SmartStax technology, offering multiple modes of action and the broadest-spectrum insect protection available. With SmartStax, growers also benefit from a reduced refuge requirement, to maximize yield potential and ultimately increase tonnage.”
