Are your growers looking for ways to reduce their fertilizer costs? Of course they are, and one way is to incorporate manure in their programs. Ag retailers can learn more about the practice by attending sessions such as the upcoming Farm Focus Field Day in Van Wert, OH.
The fourth annual Farm Focus Field Day is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29 at the Marsh Foundation Home Farm, 1229 Lincoln Highway in Van Wert. Admission and lunch are free.
There will be field demonstrations of new equipment and of liquid manure application equipment; a presentation titled “Pricing Crop Inputs and Grain in a Volatile Market Environment;” and workshops on soil structure and compaction by soil specialists from Ohio State University (OSU) Extension, Ohio State’s Agricultural Research and Development Center, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Participants can earn four hours of Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units by attending. Wagon tours after lunch will visit various research plots, or participants can take self-guided tours to plots of specific interest.
