Donaldson To Lead Valent
February 6, 2009 Michael Donaldson has been promoted to president and CEO of Valent U.S.A. Corp., Valent BioSciences Corp., and the Region Americas operating entities of Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., effective Feb. 5.
In this newly created role, Donaldson will be responsible for strategic oversight of the Valent U.S.A. and Valent BioSciences businesses, as well as for the Latin America, Mexico, and Canadian regions of Sumitomo Chemical.
Donaldson had been president and chief operating office for Valent BioSciences Corp. since 2000, and will maintain direct management of this bueiness until the position is filled at a later date. Prior to joining Valent BioSciences, Donaldson held various technical and business leadership positions at a global agricultural company and a major pharmaceutical company. He current serves on the Board of Directors of the Biopesticide Industry Alliance Organization (BPIA), the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Association (iBIO) Board, and the MeisterPro Publications Advisory Board, part of Meister Media Worldwide, parent company of CropLife eNews.
