Choose Variety, Choose Yield

A new growing season is fast approaching, and soybean growers know that selecting the right soybean seed now has the greatest impact on what the yield monitor reads next fall. According to Syngenta, growers are twice as likely to produce over 60-bushel soybeans using NK Brand soybeans.

In 43,000 head-to-head field trials from 2005 to 2007, leading NK Brand soybeans with the Roundup Ready trait were twice as likely to produce yields of 60 bushels or more per acre, according to a Syngenta press release. The release goes on to state that in 2007 trials, NK Brand soybean lines continued to outperform competitive products, including Pioneer and Asgrow varieties, in more than 76 percent of the yield comparisons.

"These results highlight the importance of variety selection to reach new levels of yield potential," says Steve Knodle, NK Soybean brand manager for Syngenta. "NK Brand soybeans are the essential starting point. The yield results across the soybean growing geographies have been very good even under some adverse growing conditions that growers experienced in 2007. Many growers reported seeing their farms’ best yields. We’re excited about the results our soybean growers will continue to see in 2008."
