Center For Strategy In Agriculture Under New Leadership

Steve Wentworth, President and Co-Founder of the Center for Strategy in Agriculture (CSA) has named Don Ricketts its new CEO. Don brings with him over three decades of experience of executive level association management in agriculture at both the national and state level including volunteer-based organizations.

"Don was with us from the beginning as we formed the direction of CSA," Wentworth says. "With his strength in strategic planning and management, he is the ideal person to lead our company as we assist our clients facing the challenges in agriculture."

Ricketts’ success in growing volunteer-led agriculture organizations is a direct result of strong strategic planning and management skills coupled with solid experience in leadership development. He has worked for National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, National Live Stock & Meat Board, Washington Cattlemen’s Association, Washington State Beef Commission, and Cattle Fax where he began his career.

"Having spent my professional career in agriculture organizations, I know how important they are to the success of the nation’s farmers and ranchers," Ricketts says. "What sets us apart is our combination of depth and breadth of knowledge and experience coupled with our products and services. I am excited to have the opportunity to play a key role in this effort."

CSA was launched in 2008 as a joint effort of agricultural leaders, farmers, and experts in strategic management. Their diverse backgrounds and capabilities allow CSA to deliver expertise to clients in a personalized and practical way. The organization’s success also relies heavily on the expertise and guidance of an Advisory Council that include a who’s who in the industry. Don Ricketts’ goal as new CEO is for CSA "to be the partner agriculture organizations can rely on as they explore their strategic options." According to Don, "We have what our clients need that will allow them to select the best path to success."

The Center for Strategy in Agriculture’s focus is adding value to global agriculture through applied leadership development, strategy education and management, and organizational optimization. The approach is coupled with two additional core disciplines of effective, yet practical, approaches to strategy and innovation development, deployment and management.
