Ag Leader Expands Facility

The Ames, IA-based manufacturer expects its facility expansion will grow its business.

Ag Leader Technology, a leading manufacturer of precision farming equipment, recently broke ground on a building expansion at their Ames facility. The 96,000-square-foot addition will more than double the size of the current facility and create approximately 58 new jobs in the Ames area.

"With the significant rise of input costs, savings and efficiency are becoming increasingly important for today’s farming operation. To keep up with demand for our precision agriculture products, we need to expand our capabilities," says Ag Leader’s president, Al Myers. "The expansion will increase our manufacturing capacity, allowing our business to continue its high growth rate.

"In addition, we are continually developing new products and innovations, and we have a need for space to expand our engineering, marketing, sales, and support staff," adds Myers.

The expansion will create both manufacturing and professional jobs, ranging from production to new product development. Additionally, the project will allow new technologies to be implemented for continued industry-leading technical support. The expansion is expected to be completed this December.
