2009 MACA Finalizes Speakers

“Building Your Future" is the theme of the 2009 MACA Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8, through Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at the Marriott West Hotel, St. Louis, MO. Here’s a look at this year’s speaker program:

  • Sept. 8. Dr. Barry Flinchbaugh, an award-winning professor of agricultural economics at Kansas State University and a long-time advisor on ag policy to politicians of both parties, will present “What We Can Expect from Washington in 2010.” Dr. Flinchbaugh served as chairman of the Commission on 21st Century Production Agriculture authorized in the 1996 Farm Bill.
  • Sept. 9. The personal development seminar will feature Reed Murphy, Commerce Bank, who will present “Your Personal Finances — What Can I do in These Times?”
  • Sept. 10. Dr. Stephen Johnson, former U.S. EPA administrator, will address the topic, “What Does the Obama Administration Mean for the Midwest Environment?” Also, a financial panel featuring three industry experts will examine “Ag Credit in 2010 — the Rest of the Story.” The industry experts include Dave Sparks, CoBank; Ken Feaster, First National Bank of Omaha, and Travis Vogler, U.S. Bank.
