Pinnacle Acquires East Kansas Chemical

Pinnacle Agriculture Holdings, LLC has acquired East Kansas Chemical. East Kansas Chemical will operate as part of Pinnacle’s Performance Agriculture brand. Headquartered in Wellsville, KS, East Kansas Chemical is a wholesale and retail agricultural chemical and seed supply company owned by several Midwestern agricultural suppliers. Ranked 82nd on the CropLife 100, the company’s revenue is divided as follows: crop protection sales (87%) seed sales (13%), according to CropLife’s 2013 survey.

The East Kansas deal follows Pinnacle’s acquisition last week of Kerman Ag in California.

The company originated in 1972 and opened its second location in Kingsdown, KS, in 1995.  The Wellsville facility serves eastern Kansas, western Missouri, and other surrounding states. The Kingsdown facility serves western Kansas, eastern Colorado, Oklahoma, and northern Texas.

Dan Karigan will continue to manage the Wellsville location at 616 Locust St., Wellsville, KS 66092. Mike Stegman will continue to manage the Kingsdown location at One EKC Place, Kingsdown, KS 67842. The current employees of both locations will retain their positions under the new ownership.
