What They Needed

North Central Cooperative (NCC) Location Manager John Rohrer needed an easier, faster and more accurate way for his employees to blend at his liquid facility in Clarion, IA.

Steve, his trusted blend operator for the last 13 seasons, was retiring; so Rohrer wanted to install the new system — before Steve left — to make sure (a) the sequencing was precise on the Junge Computer and (b) it was easier to transition new responsibilities to the new blend operator.

What We Designed

The Junge “Zone Automation” System allowed John to create a more functional plant that has increased productivity, lowered costs, increased operator efficiency/confidence, reduced risk and improved the bottom line.

Today, NCC is a more productive environment and NCC employees are practically as clean at the end of the day as they were when they started.

Installation? Fast and seamless. Delays in concrete work at NCC pushed the Junge installation back, but the company was there the day after the plumber and electrician finished. On April 11, 2016, NCC and Junge conducted final system checks and training. As a result, NCC was operational the very next day.

Rohrer: “It’s amazing. Steve’s blend expertise is now integrally programmed into our Plant Operator Software. We have no floaters waiting in the field. And customers really like how the Junge printouts/records confirm precise blends and exact amounts delivered.”
