Connecting with the community you do business in is one of the best ways to increase safety and security for both the retailer and its neighbors. For years, many retailers have held open houses to allow members of their cities and towns to get to know them better and learn more about the ways these facilities safeguard their products and the people that live nearby.
Key Points To Consider
A. Besides offering tours to local law enforcement and fire departments and volunteering for these groups, consider letting them hold meetings at your facility.
B. Help maintain local park and other outdoor public areas by having employees conduct clean-up or weed control activities.
C.Have employees conduct regular educational sessions with local schoolchildren and nearby high school and college students.
D. Consider sponsoring or holding some kind of annual community activity that can be used to promote or educate participants on the benefits of agriculture.
