IndyCar Drivers Pump Up Ethanol Benefits

The 92nd Indianapolis 500 race will be run this Sunday, May 25 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, IN. Those in that area were able to fill up with E10 and E25 gas with the pros — for just $2.97 and $1.85 per gallon, respectively.

Indianapolis consumers were able to follow in the footsteps of the IndyCar Series and made a choice at the pump for energy independence and cleaner air when E10 (a blend of10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline) was available for $2.97 a gallon and E85 (a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline) will be available for $1.85 a gallon. The promotion was held at the Crystal Flash station located at 545 S. Rangeline Rd in Carmel, IN.

IndyCar drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay, Graham Rahal, and Justin Wilson were on hand to sign autographs and answer motorist’s questions about ethanol. The first 50 cars received an ethanol fan pack. The #17 Team Ethanol show car was on display.

E10 is warranted for use in any vehicle built after 1980 and E85 can only be used in flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). There are more than 6.8 million FFVs on the road today.
