Pluimer’s nomination described what makes him this year’s best U.S. custom applicator:

“Pluimer treats all of his customers’ fields as his own. They appreciate his keen understanding of both the agronomic and business aspects of custom application. With more than 20 years of application experience and an average of 68,000 acres over 3,000 work hours each year, it’s no surprise that Pluimer is well respected by his customers, as well as his suppliers and colleagues.”

Other finalists for the award included: Gary Brandt, Gateway FS Inc. (Red Bud, IL), Marcos Duarte, Crop Production Service (Galva, KS), and Tony Kornder, Genesis (Le Center, MN).

“This is truly one of the most rewarding programs we invest in every year,” said Mark Sharitz, AGCO Application Equipment director of marketing and current ARA board member. “There are so many outstanding operators across the country who are absolutely committed to delivering exceptional service and results to their customers. These folks play a vital role in the safe and abundant production of food, fiber, and energy, and we believe their contribution deserves to be recognized.”

I want to thank AGCO and Mark Sharitz and everyone else involved with this award. Mark, don’t ever loose your passion for Operator of the Year.
I also want to make it clear that this award was a total team effort within Ceres Solutions. Especially at the Templeton,In. location. Tom Stein, mgr, Joel Amstutz and Amanda Whaley setting up jobs and dispatching trucks. Herb McGill by far my no.1 delivery person. Denny Dispennett responsible for all mixing and blending. And the rest of my coworkers. Without their support and help this wouldn’t be possible.
But I especially want to thank my wife Mary Jane. I am blessed to have a wife who understands my passion to take care of all our customers.
