The ethanol industry joined together last week to petition EPA for an increase in the amount of ethanol allowed to be blended into gasoline from 10 percent up to 15 percent. EPA has already been actively doing testing on higher blends of ethanol on small engines and vehicles that are not flex fuel capable. The usage of gasoline containing more than 10 percent ethanol in small engines is a concern to Kris Kiser, executive vice president of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, who also spoke at the ethanol conference ˆ but he believes that there are ways to deal with it.
