The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) will begin 2012 with a new chairman and several new board members. Recently, at the ARA Conference & Expo, Chairman Doyle Pearl introduced ARA’s new 2012 Chairman Billy Pirkle with Crop Production Services in Loveland, CO. Several ARA board members that are retiring from the board this year were also recognized at the conference, and new members of ARA’s Board of Directors were announced.
“ARA appreciates the time and effort provided by Chairman Pearl and the board members who rotated off of the board in December. With their support and guidance, our organization had a strong year in 2011 marked by achievements in the policy arena, membership growth and greater participation from current ARA members,” said Daren Coppock, ARA president and chief executive officer. “We welcome our new Chairman and board members and the depth of knowledge and experience they bring to the organization’s decision-making process.”
ARA’s New Chairman Billy Pirkle currently serves as the Senior Director of Environmental, Health and Safety for Crop Production Services (CPS), Inc. Prior to joining CPS, Pirkle served in various roles with IMC Fertilizer, IMC Agribusiness and Royster-Clark. Pirkle is active in the agricultural industry and currently serves on two other boards of directors in addition to ARA. He is also a board member for the Asmark Institute and the Agronomic Environmental Health & Safety School.
Chairman Pirkle will be joined by five additional officers who will assist in leading the 2012 ARA Board of Directors. These individuals include: ARA Chairman-Elect Johnny Council, with The Lyman/Tremont Group in Woodland, CA; Vice Chairman Tommy Brandenberger, with Migl Grain & Feed in Hallettsville, TX; Secretary/Treasurer Bob Trogele with FMC Agricultural Products in Philadelphia, PA; and Immediate Past Chairman Doyle Pearl with J.B. Pearl Sales & Service in St. Marys, KS.
