Show Me The Tender

With all the crop inputs your grower-customers are using while crop prices are high, now is a good time to upgrade your tender capacity and versatility. This second installment of the CropLife® Summer Show Preview series provides a sneak peak at the selection some manufacturers will be exhibiting at this summer’s equipment shows.

ADAMS FERTILIZER EQUIPMENT

Adams Fertilizer Equipment will feature an adjustable height discharge auger at this summer’s shows. The 304 stainless steel hydraulic side auger — which is standard equipment on both of Adams’ site-specific tenders and the Hopper Bottom Tender Trailer — adjusts from 7 feet to 17 feet and has a slide gate clean-out, roll tarp, and conveniently placed controls.

Show visitors also can check out Adams’ 870-cubic foot Hopper Bottom Tender Trailer, designed for faster unloading. It’s equipped with the adjustable height discharge auger, larger self-cleaning hopper doors, rack and pinion clean-out gate, hydraulic feed gate, large-capacity hydraulic tank, 40-hp diesel Deutz engine, and a tarp cover with V-cable ratchet tie-down. Stainless steel auger flighting and shaft are optional for the 32-foot 304 stainless steel trailer. DeWitt, AR, 800-648-4266, www.adamsfertequip.com

AG SYSTEMS

The 1612 Tender from Ag Systems will be hitting the road this summer. It’s a 16-ton rear discharge unit that can hold 500 cubic feet of material. Its 12-foot hydraulic drive auger can unload at a rate of 5,000-plus pounds per minute. Made of 409 stainless steel, the unit is painted white.

The 1612 features a two-compartment hopper and electric roll tarp. Additionally, the hopper and auger are made of 304 stainless steel. Hutchinson, MN, 800-328-5866, www.agsystemsonline.com

AGCO, APPLICATION EQUIPMENT DIVISION

Willmar 10-, 16-, and 24-ton 409 Stainless Steel Tenders from AGCO Corp. move up to 2 tons of material per minute. Contributing to that efficiency are two-, four-, or six-compartment hoppers that can carry a variety of materials. Steep, sloped sides and large augers dispense material quickly and completely. Increased stainless steel hardware has improved corrosion resistance and new long auger options allow for increased unloading height. Duluth, GA, 770-232-8213, www.willmartender.com

BARBER ENGINEERING

For 61 years Barber Engineering has been expanding its line of nurse boxes, continually improving the quality and function. Today, there is a wide selection of Barber Nurse Boxes to choose from ranging in capacity from 4 tons to 25 tons with both side and rear discharge available.

The 7-foot 6-inch x 10-foot Nurse Box mounted on a DuoLift trailer is a versatile unit which tows easily behind a pickup. This side discharge Nurse Box is powered by a gas engine and hydraulic power pack. A roll tarp keeps its contents dry. It is mounted on a sturdy trailer manufactured by DuoLift that includes hydraulic surge brakes, suspension, fenders, and DOT approved lights and chains.

Popular features include: 12 gauge mild (powder coated finish) or 304 stainless steel welded design; easy handling of fertilizer, grain, and seed products; frame, flatbed, or trailer mount depending on the model; and replacement parts manufactured by Barber to guarantee quality. CHANDLER EQUIPMENT CO.

The 24-ton capacity SDT-MH 24 Tender features Chandler Equipment Co.’s uniquely designed side discharge auger system. The one-piece side folding design — which comes standard with 304 stainless steel auger and tube — will provide customers with a greater discharge height, yet still be able to discharge material into planters and other low profile implements.

The SDT-MH 24 is available with several different options that include hydraulic gates and a pit dump option. The pit dump option will allow customers to stockpile material or unload onto a conveyor.

The side discharge feature is also available on Chandler’s 12- and 16-ton truck-mounted models. Chandler’s full line of fertilizer tenders, ranging from the SDT-MH 24 to a 5-ton pull-type model, are available in mild steel, 409-stainless steel, or 304-stainless steel hopper. Gainesville, GA, 800-243-3319, www.chandlerequipment.net

DEMPSTER INDUSTRIES

The 2007 model 16-Ton Side Discharge Tender reaches 18 feet to allow greater discharge height capability for equipment clearance and improved operator view of the single-unit, 10-inch unloading auger. Easy access to operation controls provides the operator separate control to both the horizontal and side augers, allowing rear horizontal auger unloading.

The two-compartment (four optional) 600-cubic-foot hopper (heaped) is made of 12-gauge 409 stainless steel and features easy flow hopper clean-out 40-degree side walls. A full-length flip-down driver side catwalk provides easy access to material loaded into the hopper. The unit comes standard with stainless steel roll-top tarp. Beatrice, NE, 402-223-4026, www.dempsterinc.com

DOYLE MANUFACTURING

MAGIE attendees can look over Doyle Manufacturing’s full line of side and rear discharge truck mount tenders with combo units available. The 24-ton side discharge trailer tender with its new modular design and new features will be on hand as well. Quincy, IL, 800-788-8085, www.doylemfg.com

THE KBH CORP.

This summer KBH will be showcasing a dry fertilizer tender and a pair of bulk seed tenders.

The KBH 25-Ton Hopper Bottom Auger Trailer measures 32 feet long and comes equipped with ABS brakes, a two-compartment stainless steel tender bed, height-adjustable rear or side discharge auger, and a Deutz diesel engine.

The KBH ST250 Bulk Seed Tender has a 190-bushel capacity with poly-cupped auger unload, two compartments, a Honda 5.5-hp engine with all-hydraulic drive system, wireless remote control, an auger that hydraulically folds for transport, and a heavy-duty tandem axle trailer.

The KBH ST350 Seed Tender features a 240-bushel capacity with cleated belt unload, two compartments, a Honda 5.5 hp engine with all-hydraulic drive system, wireless remote control, height-adjustable belt transports front or rear, and a heavy-duty tandem axle trailer. Clarksdale, MS, 800-843-5241,
