New Holland Agriculture debuts its newest front boom sprayer models to its product portfolio: the Guardian SP310F and its sister machine, the Miller Nitro 7310. These two models are the first to be engineered and built as a result of New Holland’s acquisition of the Miller-St. Nazianz company in 2014.

“The all-new Guardian and Nitro models are able to exceed industry standards thanks to the shared experience and collaboration from the New Holland and Miller teams,” said Tony Resh, Specialty Business Manager for New Holland North America. “With 20 years of experience designing Nitro front boom sprayers on the Miller side, and over 120 years of experience in practical innovation on the New Holland side, we were able to design sprayers that stand taller, cover ground faster, and take advantage of cutting-edge Precision Land Management technology. We believe this next generation of sprayers offers applicators and growers a truly best-in-class experience and I invite them to visit their local dealer to see the difference for themselves.”

Boasting an industry-leading crop clearance of up to 78 inches, the Guardian SP310F and the Nitro 7310 were designed to give operators the flexibility to spray effectively in all crops and during all stages of crop growth – from short beans to late-season corn. To further enhance productivity, the suspension can be adjusted in the cab from 72 to 78 inches, depending on the needs of the operator. They also feature a completely redesigned suspension, an FPT engine, and a new cab built with the needs of the operator in mind. The reduced weight of these new models and maintained even weight distribution allows for reduced soil compaction.

The new advancements on the Guardian SP310F and Nitro 7310 models work together to increase productivity while minimizing maintenance and fuel usage. Combining the power of the reliable, 310 horsepower FPT engine for increased torque with the new electronically controlled planetary drives, operators will be able to reach road speeds up to 35 mph and improve fuel economy without compromising speed. The cab has been completely redesigned, and now features more glass for improved visibility of the front boom, wider lift arms than previous models, improved ergonomics and comfort, and additional state-of-the-art monitors.
In addition, the new models offer chemical injection which increases customer convenience by allowing operators to keep product and water separated in order to vary the rate of application across the field. This will allow operators to use one product in one field, and another product in a different field without the need to stop and refill. Complete with an automatic rinse feature, operators can rinse the tank and boom quickly and conveniently.

Applicators and growers who wish to apply nitrogen or other fertilizers to late-season corn will find that the Guardian SP310F and the Nitro 7310 are the perfect machines for the job when paired with the NutraBoss dual fertilizer application system. NutraBoss provides an easy-on, easy-off solution that saves time and minimizes fertilizer costs by placing the fertilizer on the ground near the root zone to stimulate growth and reduce loss due to volatilization. This lightweight and flexible solution can help operators meet their late-stage Nitrogen application needs.
