Trimble held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for its new Rockies campus in Westminster, CO.
The ceremony was attended by Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Colorado CIO-Secretary of Technology Kristin Russell, Jefferson County Commissioners Faye Griffin and John Odom, and Westminster Mayor Nancy McNally.
“Trimble Agriculture has seen solid growth over the last several years. In fact, first quarter 2012 revenue for Field Solutions (the division in which Trimble Agriculture is a part) was up 20% from first quarter 2011 due in part to increased sales of agricultural products,” says Erik Arvesen, vice president for Trimble’s Agriculture Division. “The new Rockies campus in Westminster means Trimble can continue ramping up its business functions – such as engineering, sales, support and marketing – to offer new solutions that address customer and retailer needs.”

Trimble’s New Rockies Campus
Trimble’s new Rockies campus will be a 125,000-square-foot, four-story building on 15 acres in the Westmoor area of the City of Westminster. It will house existing employees, with space to accommodate up to 570 employees. The expected completion is May 2013.
Trimble opened its initial Colorado location in October 2000 with 43 employees at the Church Ranch Office Center in the City of Westminster, occupying approximately 29,000 square feet. Today, Trimble leases approximately 98,000 square feet in Westminster’s Westmoor Technology Park, with more than 400 employees. Employees in the location primarily focus on marketing, testing and applications engineering in the construction, surveying, agriculture and mapping & geographic information system (GIS) markets.
As part of the project, Trimble’s broad range of Engineering and Construction (E&C) solutions will be used during construction of the new campus — from survey, site-prep, excavation and estimating to 3D design and Building Information Modeling (BIM), project management and construction layout. Trimble’s Connected Site solutions, previously highlighted in CropLife Magazine’s May “Product Close-Up,” enable an integrated and seamless workflow to reduce rework and improve productivity on a construction jobsite. The building project is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
