Thomas McCann of Calgary, Canada, has been named regional sales manager for Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) in Canada. The announcement was made by Marty Cook, North America sales manager.
For 12 years, McCann, with a degree in agriculture from the University of Guelph, Ontario, has been associated with AGCO Corp. as a business development specialist and area sales manager. In those positions, he was responsible for training seminars as well as sales and marketing of agriculture equipment.
From 2002-2004, he was a researcher for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture where he promoted the adoption of nutrient management practices to area farm operations.
On McCann’s appointment, Cook said, “Tom’s background in precision agriculture working with one of the world’s largest agricultural equipment manufacturers, plus his work with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, provides a solid foundation for success in his position with TPA. He understands the importance of technology in the agriculture market and his agriculture equipment sales and training experience will be a boon for the company and his customers.”
McCann said, “At AGCO, I was very familiar with the Topcon technology and how it is revolutionizing farming operations around the world. I am very excited to be joining TPA as a regional sales manager and want to put my varied experience to good use in promoting Topcon’s technology and solutions in Canada.”
