Beck’s Hybrids and MyRainReport.com, powered by RainWave, have formed a partnership that makes Beck’s Hybrids the exclusive provider of MyRainReport.com; providing services in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Kentucky. Beck’s will offer the service as MyRainScout.com.
The service enables farmers to capture daily rainfall amounts from any location they choose. The rainfall data from each of their selected locations is sent to the farmer’s email address each morning, enabling them to make better farm management decisions.
Using patent-pending technology that includes Doppler radar data and proprietary algorithms, combined with a farmer’s field GPS coordinates and a reliable quality control system, MyRainScout.com collects the precise amount of rainfall for a given location and sends a rain report to the farmer’s email without the use of a rain gauge at the location. As a result, farmers always have access to their site-specific rainfall data without the need to maintain and monitor rain gauges or keep manual records.
Sonny Beck, president of Beck’s Hybrids explains, “This is cutting edge technology providing farmers site-specific rainfall information without the use of expensive equipment on the ground. Imagine having field specific rainfall information to help you decide when and where to move equipment, judge the effectiveness and timing of spray applications, and analyze yield reports in relation to rainfall on a specific field. This will be a powerful management tool for farmers to increase profitability on their farm. In fact, we plan to use this system on all of our seed production fields this year.”
“Farmers are going to love the accuracy, reliability, and convenience of this system,” said Curt Cope, CEO of MyRainReport.com. “We are very excited about our partnership with Beck’s Hybrids. Our strength in providing reliable site specific rainfall data combined with Beck’s agronomic knowledge will help farmers save time and energy and help them make more money.”
Currently, farmers can quickly and easily sign up for services on MyRainReport.com. After April 15, 2011, any farmer in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and parts of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Kentucky will be able to sign up on Beck’s website (www.beckshybrids.com) or by utilizing the services on www.MyRainScout.com.
