Three Products Approved
Soybean growers now have two more fungicides available for their Asian soybean rust arsenal and use in popcorn has been added to a reliable herbicide.
The newly registered products are:
- Alto fungicide from Syngenta Crop Protection has been issued a Section 3 full registration for use in soybeans.
Alto, previously issued a Section 18 Quarantine Exemption for Asian soybean rust control, is a highly systemic triazole fungicide containing the active ingredient cyproconazole and provides residual curative activity. The company recommends tank mixing Alto with Quadris fungicide for control against a wide variety of soybean diseases and as part of the company’s Plant Performance program.
Alto is not registered for sale or use in all states. Check with the state or local Extention service about its registration in the areas your dealership services.
- Status herbicide from BASF is now registered for use on popcorn.
The broadspectrum broadleaf herbicide offers a wide application window, crop safety, crop rotation flexibility, and simplicity. Along with its fast knockdown power and residual control of later-emerging weeds as a standalone product, Status is also an ideal tank-mix partner with glyphosate in Roundup Ready corn.
- Proline 480 SC fungicide from Bayer CropScience has been approved for use in soybeans.
Proline gives outstanding control of Asian soybean rust and powdery mildew. It also may be used in a tankmix with Stratego fungicide to provide control of a wide range of diseases. It may be applied with either ground or aerial application equipment.
Proline is not registered in all states; contact the local Bayer CropScience sales representative for availability of Proline in your service area.
