WEIGHING IN: Get My Drift?
Today is Earth Day.

As the original environmentalists, this is a good time for you and your grower-customers to take a step back, look at your operations through your neighbors’ eyes, and find ways to be more Earth-friendly as part of everyone’s daily routine.

Yes, I know, you’re extremely busy right now, but let me ask you: What's your one activity that attracts the most attention and causes the most stress between your outlet and your neighbors?

Probably your most noticeable activity -- especially for your non-ag neighbors -- is the small army of spray rigs you send out in the fields. It’s all very scenic in the spring, as everyone anticipates the seeds growing into lush green rows in the countryside. But come summer, those rigs and/or your small ag airplanes are not so welcome, especially any clouds of spray that drift into their yards and fields.

You try your best to safeguard against application spray drift -- not spraying when winds are high, checking where nearby houses and at-risk crops are located, and more. And with the high cost of inputs this season, you and your growers want every drop to count towards top yields.

So, how do you balance the environmental concerns and financial concerns with the need to get the job done?

We’ve asked a couple of retailers that question and you’ll find their responses in the upcoming May issue of CropLife® magazine. Tell us, what’s your take?
