Monsanto, Syngenta Increase Sales
Monsanto and Syngenta are both reporting major sales increases during the first quarter of 2008 and expect continued success.
Monsanto reported that net earnings climbed 107% to US $1.1 billion thanks to its strong corn business, among other reasons. Sales increased by 45% to US $3.8 billion during the past quarter.
Syngenta, likewise, has had a sales boost during the first quarter. The company reported that, adjusted for exchange rate effects, turnover had increased by 20%. All business divisions had contributed towards the increase. Experts are expecting the upswing to continue for a long time due to strong demand and high prices.
