Making The News

Spring is a time for new challenges, not only in the field, but for manufacturer personnel.

These newsmakers include:

  • Friedrich Berschauer, chairman of the Board of Management of Bayer CropScience, has been appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of CropLife International, the global federation that represents the plant science industry. He will serve as chairman for two years, officially starting later this year, and will focus on advocating creating national and international policy environments that are conducive to the introduction of beneficial new technologies.

Hugh Grant, chairman and CEO of Monsanto, has been appointed vice chairman of the Board.

  • GVM, Inc. has added Steve Ims, previously with Raven Industries, as regional and international sales manager and Aaron Hunt, formerly of ZedX, Inc., as director of technology sales. Both have strong backgrounds in precision agriculture.

  • Gehl Co. has appointed Ed Delaporte as vice president, Information Technology. He previously worked for Woods Equipment Co., Frantz Manufacturing, and Caremark.
