United Co-op Sends Members Record Patronage Refunds

United Cooperative has returned $9.1 million in cash to its patron members this month in the form of patronage refunds. During the company’s annual meeting this month, UC President David Cramer announced that sales during the past year totaled nearly $525 million, up $200 million from 2010.

“Our core cooperative businesses generated almost $20 million in profits, and our investments in three ethanol-production facilities contributed $14.5 million to our net income,” Cramer said. “In addition, patronage from our regional cooperatives equaled about $3.3 million. Adding everything up, United Cooperative had a total income before taxes of $37.6 million, up $13.3 million from 2010.”
