Hintzsche Fertilizer To Acquire Ag Retailer

Hintzsche Fertilizer, Inc. (No. 65 on the CropLife 100) has reached an agreement to acquire Burroughs Ag Services, Inc. located in north central Illinois. Burroughs Ag has been in business for 40 years, serving Marshall, Stark, Woodford, and portions of Bureau, LaSalle, and Livingston counties. Founded by John Burroughs in 1971, this business will continue to operate under the name of Burroughs Ag Services, and will be a subsidiary of Hintzsche Fertilizer, Inc.

“We look forward to the expansion of our business and the synergies it will provide to both companies,” explained company president David Hintzsche. “Our ultimate goal is to improve the production and profitability of all of our growers.”

The parties involved are working toward a late summer closing.
