GROWMARK Plant Food Division Reorganizes

A desire for continued growth both within and beyond the core Midwestern FS territory prompted a reorganization of GROWMARK’s Plant Food Division, effective May 1, 2011.

“I believe this new structure will put the GROWMARK Plant Food Division in a place to accomplish our objectives and serve our patrons in the future,” said Rod Wells, Plant Food Division manager.

Joe Dillier will continue his role as director of plant food. He is responsible for all purchasing, pricing, and risk management activities of the Division.

Jim Kelly will assume the role of terminal business development manager. He will be responsible for marketing GROWMARK-owned terminals to other businesses for the storage and handling of non-plant food products.

Joe Kilgus will assume the role of director of plant food sales – core market. He will assume responsibility for developing growth strategies inside the core geography and continuing to expand business with core FS Midwest member cooperatives.

Three new positions will be created. The plant food operations manager will provide leadership to all terminal managers and the plant food operations specialist. To assist that individual, an associate plant food operations specialist will also be hired after the spring season.

The position of director, plant food sales – expanded markets will be accountable for market share growth outside the FS Midwest geography and will supervise five area sales managers located in those areas.
