Use:
Conditioner-extender. Used in the formulation of quality dust pesticides. A specially treated calcium carbonate is marketed as an insecticide diluent. A grinding aid for waxy toxicants being ground with absorbent carriers. Most common insecticides are stable in this material. Practically all commonly used toxicants including sensitive chlorinated hydrocarbons and phosphates are stable in finished pesticide dusts.
Chemistry
Properties: Bulk density 40-100 lb./cu. ft.; oil absorption 5-15%; non-water wettable; pH 8-9; screen analysis 200-325 mesh, very flowable. Non-corrosive, high purity, calcitic limestone, surface treated with fatty acids, hydrophobic. TLV = 10 mg/m3 as a nuisance dust (ACGIH limit).
