  • Herbicide
Use: A dinitroaniline compound used as preplant, soil-incorporated, selective herbicide. Requires incorporation with or immediately after application to prevent loss of activity. Preemergence control of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in seeded alfalfa, birdsfoot trefoil, clover (ladino, red), direct-seeded lettuce, peanuts, transplant air-cured (burley, dark) tobacco, established turf.

Chemistry
Class: Dinitroaniline.
Properties: Pure is yellow-orange crystalline solid. Melting point 65°-66°C. Vapor pressure 2.8 x 10-5 mm/Hg at 25°C. Readily soluble in organic solvents such as acetone and xylene; less soluble in solvents such as ethanol.

Toxicity: Tech (Rat): Oral LD50 >5000 mg/kg
Handling/storage: Keep out of reach of children. Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Avoid skin and eye contact or breathing spray mist. Avoid freezing; store above 40°F. Do not use or store near heat or open flame. Corrosive; EC formulations have caused severe eye irritation in laboratory animals. May cause skin sensitization reactions in certain individuals
Protective Clothing: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants. Chemical-resistant gloves.
