Pioneer Acquires Doebler’s PA Hybrids

Pioneer Hi-Bred has closed the acquisition of Doebler’s PA Hybrids, Jersey Shore, PA, as part of its Pioneer Hi-Bred PROaccess business strategy. Terms were not disclosed.

Doebler’s has served customers in the eastern U.S. for more than 76 years with corn, soybeans, alfalfa and grass seed lines. Doebler’s distributes Pioneer corn hybrids and soybean varieties under the Pioneer-owned RPM brand.

First introduced in December 2008, the PROaccess business strategy enables Pioneer to make available its seed genetics to more growers through a network of distributors. Pioneer will continue its PROaccess distribution agreements with other independent seed companies as previously announced:

In December 2010, Pioneer closed the acquisitions of Hoegemeyer Hybrids, Hooper, NE, distributor of HPT brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties; NuTech Seed, Ames, IA, distributor of G2 brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties; Seed Consultants, Washington C.H., OH, distributor of Supreme EX brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties; and AgVenture, Inc., Kentland, IN, which distributes VPMaxx brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties through its 39 independently owned and managed Regional Seed Companies.
