New Ethanol Corn Seed Under Review

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is reviewing a petition by Syngenta Seeds for a determination of nonregulated status for a new corn seed referred to as event 3272.

This new corn seed product is designed to help ethanol plants decrease their overall production costs by requiring less energy for distillation and evaporation. The comment period to APHIS ended on Jan. 20. ARA and several other agricultural organizations submitted comment letters in support of this new biotech product.
