Repar Registers New Biopesticide With U.S. EPA

Repar Corp., with headquarters in Silver Spring, MD, has developed Homobrassinolide 0.1%, a new generation plant growth promoter containing homobrassinolide, a natural substance with profound plant growth promoting activity. It is also known by its alternate brand names, HBR 0.1%, Homobrassin and Initiator Homobrassin.

The product is fully biodegradable, leaves no residues, and is environmentally friendly.

The natural plant growth substance present in the product improves the physiological and biochemical processes involved in crop growth and development. It does this by promoting cell division and seed germination, increases photosynthesis and selected enzymes, imparts stress resistance, induces flowering and fruit growth, and increases quality of produce.

Repar is recommending its use on a selected large array of farm, flowering, and fruit and nut crops. It is compatible with pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and micronutrients commonly used by farmers and growers.

Among the selected crops are potato, artichoke, sweet potato, yams, onions, celery, lettuce, rhubarb, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, peas, tomatoes, eggplant, pepper, okra melon cantaloupe, cucumber squash, watermelon, various oranges and grapefruit, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, plums apricots, nectarines, bananas, table and wine grapes, almonds walnuts barley buckwheat, corn oats, wheat, sugar cane, rice, rye, lucerne, peanuts rape, soybean, sunflower, cotton and flowering plants.
