New Crop Scouting App Now Available For Ag Retailers

Designed and developed by Neucadia, LLC, AgraScout enables seamless, simultaneous communication between the scout and the customer as well as sales, product supply, application and billing.
AgraScout is a comprehensive data management and communications tool that can be used by retailers, consultants, sales reps and others to track and report conditions in a particular farm location. Available by subscription, AgraScout can be used on an iPad, iPhone, Android, PC and other Internet-connected devices.

“Crop scouting has become an important part of our agronomy business as farmers get bigger and busier, and don’t have the time to visit every field and scout conditions on their own as much as they might like,” said Jim Sheppard, president of Harvey’s Agricultural Solutions. “But the need for information about crop conditions, including weeds, insects and other pests has never been greater. We tried other systems, but found that AgraScout allows us to monitor and act quickly on information that our scouts are capturing in the field, which makes our customers very happy.”
Neucadia Director of Sales and Marketing, Brandon Warner, stated that AgraScout has been under development for a number of years by a team of experienced agronomists and systems analysts.
“We put the AgraScout system through a thorough beta test program during last year’s drought ravaged growing season,” Warner said. “We were able to identify and control potential crop yield issues like spider mites well before anyone else in the market, saving thousands of dollars in lost crop yield revenue for our customers.”
Once a field is scouted, a recommendation is made and sent to the grower via e-mail. The e-mail contains the issues found by the scout, the prescription for the field and a link to the interactive field map with exact locations of the problems found.
“We not only have the ability to locate and track infestation issues,” Warner said, “but we also have a platform that reports and offers solutions to customers with amazing speed.”
Neucadia, LLC is a systems development group specializing in agricultural solutions with offices in Michigan and Arizona. The group is currently developing a manure management system that will tie into the AgraScout system.
