Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield — Seed offerings from Monsanto will expand to more than 200 soybean varieties in 2011, including many aphid-tolerant varieties. New corn hybrids in the Genuity platform will be available for Vt Double Pro, Vt Triple Pro and SmartStax.

Poncho/VOTiVO — Seed treatment from Bayer CropScience for corn will be launched in 2011. It combines Poncho seed-applied insecticide with VOTiVO, a unique strain of bacteria that lives and grows within the roots. The result is broad protection from a wide range of early season insect and nemotode species, inlcuding wireworms, black cutworms and white grubs. Bayer will launch the treatment for soybeans in 2012.

Refuge-in-the-Bag (RIB) — Product concept in development by Dow AgroSciences, Monsanto and Syngenta pending EPA registration expected in late 2011 for market launch in 2012. RIB will provide a complete, single-bag solution to offer greater convenience and meet refuge compliance for both below- and above-ground insect protection traits in corn.

Dow AgroSciences plans to commercialize RIB as SmartStax Refuge Advanced. Monsanto hopes to commercialize RIB options for Genuity SmartStax and Genuity VT Double PRO. Syngenta will market its RIB offering as Agrisure EZ Refuge.
