Industry Veteran To Lead Engage Agro USA
August 2, 2010 Ray Chyc, president and owner of Engage Agro Corp., has formed Engage Agro USA LLC. Incorporated in the state of Delaware, the new company will build on the successful business model developed in Canada with the sole purpose of providing development, regulatory, marketing, and sales functions for unique, high value crop protection and nutrient products for growers in the U.S. Engage Agro Canada was formed in 1995 and has grown to more than 35 people.
“We hope and expect to be able to replicate our business strategy in the USA, and to create efficiencies for our supplier partners to the benefit of growers across both countries”, Chyc says.
In launching Engage Agro USA LLC, Trevor Thorley, former Chief Operating Officer of AMVAC Chemical has agreed to accept the position of president of the new company and will begin creating the organization effective August 1, 2010, building off a list of products currently available from Canada.
“I am extremely excited about the formation of this new business in the U.S. and in having Trevor at the helm. He has tremendous market and customer knowledge and has led many successful businesses over the term of his 30-year career,” Chyc says.
Over the course of his career Thorley has held positions in sales and marketing with Bayer Corp., as well as the president and COO for Valent USA and executive officer for its parent company Sumitomo Chemical.
“I am very pleased to embark on this new venture and am excited about the possibilities,” Thorley says. “Our vision is to introduce innovation and differentiation of products which meet unique customer needs. We won’t be simply another chemical company. Customer needs will be our primary concern and motivation.”
Thorley will initially be based out of Prescott, AZ, and will establish the company office shortly.
