Cobra, Phoenix Herbicides Added To Incentive Program

Valent U.S.A. Corp. has announced Cobra and Phoenix herbicides will join Valor, Valor XLT, Gangster and Select Max herbicides in the Roundup Ready PLUS soybean incentives. Cobra and Phoenix are the first postemergence broadleaf products from Valent to be included in the program. Growers using Cobra or Phoenix to control more than 54 problem weeds (including waterhemp, pigweeds and common ragweeds) will now gain even more of a return on their herbicide investment.
 
Growers who use 10 fl oz/A of Cobra or Phoenix along with Roundup PowerMAX or Roundup WeatherMAX are eligible to receive a $3 per acre incentive. Eligible crops include Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield Soybeans or Roundup Ready Soybeans.
 
“The longtime commitment between Valent and Monsanto has been critical to resistance management and growers’ overall weed strategy programs,” said Trey Soud, Valent brand manager. “Pre residual herbicides—such as Valor, Valor XLT and Gangster—serve as the core of resistance management; however, the addition of Cobra and Phoenix now allows growers to earn an incentive for using postemerge broadleaf herbicides. This supports university recommendations that say using multiple modes of action on every application is an essential resistance management strategy.”
