Isagro USA Announces Marketing Agreements For Its Trichoderma Fungicide

Isagro USA has announced two separate distribution arrangements for its proprietary Trichoderma biorational fungicide, effectively splitting marketing responsibilities between agricultural and turf/ornamental markets.

Based in Davis, CA, AgraQuest, Inc. will distribute the Isagro Trichoderma product to conventional agricultural crop markets under the Bio-Tam trademark in the USA. AgraQuest also has development rights in Mexico and certain development options in Canada as part of its agreement with Isagro.

SipcamAdvan originally introduced the product in 2010 under the Tenet trademark, and will continue to market Trichoderma under that brand to turf and ornamental markets.

“This distribution arrangement will allow each company to focus on its respective markets, which will help Isagro gain maximum value for the Trichoderma product in both segments,” said Denny Krass, Chairman of Isagro USA.

Both agreements went into effect May 1, 2012.

About The Trichoderma Product

The proprietary Trichoderma fungicide delivers excellent control of root and collar rot diseases caused by Phythopthora spp., Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium spp. and sclerotinia spp.

This second-generation biorational fungicide contains a 50/50 mix of two distinct natural strains of antagonistic fungi – Trichoderma asperellum and Trichoderma gamsii – both of which are effective in a broad range of temperatures and humidity.

The product delivers multiple modes of action against soil borne pathogens. The active microbes in the product antagonize harmful plant pathogens, thus preventing crop infection. Since it contains living microbes, the product remains biologically active on plant roots and in the soil giving prolonged disease protection.
