PotashCorp Announces Changes With Director of Agronomy

PotashCorp has announced the retirement of Director of Agronomy Kim Polizotto, Ph.D., effective Sept. 30, and the hiring of a new Director of Agronomy, Robert Mullen, Ph.D., in June — ensuring a seamless transition for customers who have come to rely on PotashCorp for agronomic advice.

During his 26-year tenure, Polizotto provided agronomic education for a myriad of audiences ranging from customers and industry organizations to universities, offered one-on-one customer service to PotashCorp fertilizer customers, and led new product research. During his tenure with PotashCorp he has consulted with international customers in Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, as well as the U.S.

“While we are sad to say farewell to Kim, we wish him all the best in his retirement,” said Stephen Dowdle, President, PCS Sales. “Over the years, he has earned the respect of his colleagues and peers and was a trusted resource for our customers.”

Mullen joined PotashCorp as Director of Agronomy in June, working side by side with Polizotto during the transition period. He was most recently an Associate Professor and Nutrient Management/Soil Fertility Specialist at The Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources. He is a member of the Crop Management editorial board of the American Society of Agronomy, Soil Science Society of America and the Crop Science Society of America. He earned his Ph.D. in soil science and master’s degree in plant and soil science at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK, and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business at Cameron University in Lawton, OK.
