Agro-Culture Execs To Appear On RFD-TV
April 17, 2014 As the 2014 planting season finally gets underway, it’s time to begin looking forward to in-season fertility plans.
Having a plan in place to address fertility needs throughout the growing season will help prevent the development of yield and quality reducing deficiencies. Often, by the time visible signs of deficiencies are present, yield potential for that crop has already been permanently reduced. As other, uncontrollable factors continue to play a strong role in the marketing of this year’s crop, producers will look more and more to heavy yields to help bolster their bottom line, making preparedness for this season increasingly important.
In addition to a plan however, growers will also need to be more responsive and flexible than ever. Taking into consideration weather, weed, pest and other circumstances as they arise, and responding quickly to those circumstances will help producers position themselves favorably.
On April 28, Dr. Jerry Wilhm, Agro-Culture Liquid Fertilizers Senior Research Manager, and Galynn Beer, AgroLiquid Senior Sales Manager, will team up to give producers the tips, tools and tactics they need to succeed. The duo will take the stage on RFD-TV’s Rural America Live program to speak about the importance of both an in-season fertility plan and a quick response to circumstances that may arise during the growing season.
Dr. Wilhm has 37 years of experience in agriculture research, 22 of those with AgroLiquid. A native of Oklahoma, he holds a bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
Beer has worked in ag sales for 20 years and has been with AgroLiquid for 17 of those. Also a native of Oklahoma, he grew up on an irrigated corn and wheat farm in the Oklahoma panhandle. Beer holds a bachelor degree from the University of Oklahoma.
In addition to addressing nutrient sources, application methods and other important factors to consider for this year’s in-season fertilizer applications, Wilhm and Beer will also take producers’ biggest in-season fertility questions. RFD-TV is accepting question submissions now.
