In its quest to help more producers save money by improving the efficacy of foliar-applied crop chemicals and fertilizer, Max Systems LLC, has named Keegan Mammen as National Sales Manager. In his new role, Mammen will help set up new distributors for the company’s full line of nanotechnology adjuvants, promote product awareness and establish demonstration plots, among other duties.

Unlike most adjuvants, Max System products utilize nanoparticles, which are microscopic particles that are small enough to easily penetrate through the plant’s surface membrane, carrying the appropriate crop chemical with them. Hence, part of Mammen’s job will be helping farmers understand how they work.

“We’re excited to have Keegan as part of the team,” explains Douglas Stengel, co-owner and business partner in Max Systems LLC. “He has experience in literally every phase of agriculture and he already knows a lot about our products, having worked as an agronomist for the past 18 years.”

As Stengel explains, Mammen comes to the job with nearly 27 years of experience with the Harvest Land Cooperative in his hometown of Morton, MN. Over half of that time was spent as the agronomist for the cooperative where, ironically, he managed test plots on Max Systems co-owner Chris Schlegel’s own farm for the past six years.

“Part of the focus going forward will be on education and earlier application to help farmers save money and improve yields,” Mammen says. “But we also have a number of new products coming out in the future. So I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
