Exacto Completes Warehouse Expansion

After moving to a new location in Sharon, WI, in 2009, Exacto Inc. has continued to expand and modify its facility to accommodate continual growth.

The recent completion of an additional 20,000 square feet of warehouse space has tripled the indoor storage capacity and doubled the amount of shipping/receiving docks at the facility.

According to the company, this energy efficient green storage space was designed to minimize the impact on the surrounding ecosystem and is already being used to house more than 180,000 pounds of dry materials and packaging for day to day operations. Maximizing logistical efficiency, workflow orientation and rotational practices have already begun to help decrease congestion, leading to faster throughput times of materials.

Jason Kelly, Operations Manager, is excited for what this means for the future of Exacto. “This state of the art facility allows us to institute cutting edge lean manufacturing principles. It positions us to better meet our customers’ needs by letting us manage our supply chain. The facility also allows for point of use for nearly all raw materials. The improvement to work flow this expansion provides has already decreased our cycle time.” Matt Uksas, Traffic Manager at Exacto, had the final word on the matter, “The space is amazing, I am thankful for it every day.”
